Though
historically the Seven Sisters was comprised of seven
academic institutions -- Barnard College, Bryn Mawr College,
Mt. Holyoke College, Radcliffe College, Smith College,
Vassar College, and Wellesley College -- only five are
currently undergraduate women's colleges. Vassar College
became a coeducational institution in 1969 (click) and in
1977 Radcliffe College, which had not been independent of
Harvard University, was fully absorbed by Harvard as they
decided to admit women to Harvard College.
